Personal Finance with a Social Justice Lens | Diamond Walton

  • Theological Horizons 1841 University Circle Charlottesville, VA 22903 (map)

What happens when personal finance is no longer personal? During this session we will discuss the social justice implications of our everyday financial decisions and how we can take steps to better align our values with how we use and manage money.

Ms. Walton has spent her career pursuing community-led solutions to public health challenges. She has worked alongside community members to mobilize financial, social, and human capital to address social determinants of health such as transportation, built environment, and access to health care. She is interested in how income and wealth function as social determinants of health and how reducing the racial wealth gap contributes to improved health outcomes.
