2:15-4pm: Ask Me Anything: Mental Health on Campus
This interactive workshop will provide an opportunity for students to explore mental health concerns that arise for college students and ways to address these both with personal strategies and by accessing campus resources. Students can bring questions and ask anonymously in an open and supportive environment. All are welcome!
Dr. Jessica Young Brown is a licensed clinical psychologist who works as clinician, educator, consultant, and speaker. Her research and clinical work focus on making mental health accessible and equitable for people in marginalized communities, and equipping mental health professionals to better serve these communities. She specializes in the integration of issues of faith with mental health, supporting individuals and faith communities in understanding how spiritual and religious systems impact mental and emotional wellness. Dr. Brown’s areas of interest and expertise include the impact of racism and race-related stress on mental health, generational and cultural trauma, and the intersection of faith and mental health. In addition to various peer reviewed and popular media articles, Dr. Brown is the author of Making Space at the Well: Mental Health and the Church.
